One of the city’s most popular outdoor swimming pools is gearing up for another season.

The Kitsilano Pool will reopen on Saturday (May 18) at 9 a.m. and operate through September 15, which means Vancouverites will have plenty of opportunities to take a dip in the salt-water pool.

It recently underwent a major renovation in winter 2018, which saw a $3.3 million upgrade that included a new pool membrane, deck repairs, and the installation of an electric pump that reduces the use of nearly 430,000 gallons of potable water.

The 137-meter long pool opened in 1931, and was refurbished once in 1978 for $2.2 million before its 2018 facelift.
