No, it’s not a funky dinosaur exhibition taking place inside Pacific Centre (701 West Georgia).

The reptile cardboard cut-outs and silhouettes plastered all over the bags and apparel currently on display in the downtown shopping center’s glass rotunda is Rexy, the T-Rex mascot for U.S. luxury fashion house Coach.

It’s the inspiration for the luxury brand’s Rexy Remix pop-up (runs through May 29), which showcases its pre-fall 2019 collection that features original artwork by contemporary artists based in China.

Shoppers will be able to check out the ready-to-wear pieces, bags, footwear, and accessories characterized by creative and unique renditions of Rexy.

Guang Yu's interpretation of Coach's mascot is a hand-drawn graffiti print.

Music collective YETI OUT incorporated the mascot into its distinctive round logo; Chinese sculptor Sui Jianguo created a T-Rex sculpture that was photographed into a distorted photo print; Zhu Jingyi’s version of Rexy is made into an authentic ink drawing; and Guang Yu’s Rexy interpretation uses graffiti art.
