Boat collision at Osoyoos Lake: three injured, two dead, including man from Metro Vancouver

      A collision between two boats at Osoyoos Lake on Saturday evening has left three males hospitalized and two men dead, with one of them from Metro Vancouver.

      Around 7:15 p.m. on June 8 at Osoyoos Lake, one boat t-boned another boat which caused both to sink, according to Global News.

      Three men were reported to have been taken to hospital with serious injuries while two men remained missing.

      Osoyoos RCMP announced today (June 10) that after 7 p.m. on June 9, an RCMP underwater recovery team located the bodies of two men—a 35-year-old man from Kamloops and a 36-year-old man from Maple Ridge—from Osoyoos Lake.

      RCMP are still at the scene as they attempt to retrieve both boats from the bottom of the lake.

      An investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.

      Anyone who witnessed the boats prior to or during the collision or anyone who has footage of the lake around the time of the collision is asked to contact investigators at 250-495-7236.
