Video: Former superstar rower Silken Laumann witnesses pod of orcas right in front of her deck

      Silken Laumann has spent more time on the water than the vast majority of British Columbians.

      But the triple-medal-winning rower at the Olympics had never witnessed anything like what she recently observed from her home on Saanich Inlet.

      A group of transient orcas swam right up to the edge of the deck and jumped out of the water.

      One looked like it was less than a metre away.

      And it was all captured on video, which was posted on Twitter.
