Calling all foodies! Are you a positive, service-focused person looking for the chance to share your love of food and be an active part of the Vancouver community? If that sounds like you, then reward your inner food lover with a fun, fast-paced, flexible job at one of the city’s premier food destinations.

On Monday and Tuesday (August 12 and 13), from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Urban Fare (a member of the Save On Foods family) is hosting a hiring fair at the Coast Hotel. The store, which prides itself on going the extra mile and offering the ultimate food experience for its customers, is looking for talented and passionate employees who can provide friendly, fast, and efficient service.

The store has opportunities in all positions at its downtown Vancouver locations in Yaletown, Coal Harbour, Shangri-La, and False Creek—all four of which are easily accessible and within five minutes of a major transit route. Urban Fare needs team members who are available to work between 16 and 40 hours per week, although scheduling is flexible.

The starting wage is $15.30 per hour, which is paid weekly and is the best starting wage in the industry in the Metro Vancouver area. No previous experience is required as long as you have a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.

All new team members will receive paid training, where they will be taught how to provide great customer service to Urban Fare shoppers, share product knowledge with customers, and ensure their department is well-stocked and -presented. And after a six-month probationary period, members receive employer-paid benefits.

On a typical day with the team, an employee will be involved in a variety of tasks—from making sure that only the freshest products are displayed to handling customer-service inquiries—all in order to provide the very best customer experience.

Urban Fare’s hiring fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday (August 12 and 13) at the Coast Hotel (1180 West Hastings Street). Don’t forget to bring your résumé along with two pieces of valid ID (one photo).
