Vancouver has no shortage of fantastic artists, but Crystal Cornthwaite felt that more could be done to help the local arts community gain recognition for its hard work, while encouraging shoppers to support local talent. That’s why, in 2018, she founded , a unique space for art lovers and creatives to get together and become part of a very special and growing community.

The thriving shopping destination is located on the second floor of an unassuming building at 1448 West Broadway. Inside, the vibrant market is a treasure trove of arts and crafts, showcasing the work of more than 40 local artisans. Shoppers can discover a huge variety of one-of-a-kind items, from fine art to pottery, weaving, photography, jewellery, leatherwork, and woodwork, as well as fine teas, soaps, candles, and more.

Each artist has their own section within the market to set up and display their work. And since Pacific Arts Market rents spaces on a four-week renewable basis, it is constantly evolving so visitors can always expect to find a few surprises. There is also almost always space for new vendors to come on board.

Better still, by purchasing from Pacific Arts Market customers can feel good in the knowledge that they are supporting the local economy by directly benefiting the artists and makers. That’s because vendors sell their work with no commission fees, so they have a platform in a great location like they’ve never had before! Market staff manages the space and sells the work, which means the artists can dedicate their time to what they do best—being creative.

The team at the market is always seeking new artists and vendors of all types. In order to help budding creatives develop and grow their businesses, there are artist meet-ups and marketing workshops hosted on location.

There truly isn’t anything else like it in the city. In fact, Pacific Arts Market was named a Top Choice of things to do in Vancouver by .

In addition to having the opportunity to see and buy exceptional works from some of B.C.’s most talented artists, visitors to Pacific Arts Market can connect with the local art scene at some of the special events, including workshops, paint nights, artist talks, and exhibitions. All events are always posted on social media and the website.

Pacific Arts Market (1448 West Broadway) is open every day except Monday. To learn more, visit the website at or follow on Instagram.
