Heinz Turkey Stew baby food recalled due to insects found in product

      Baby food that was found to have insects in it is being recalled in several Canadian provinces, including British Columbia.

      The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced on August 16 that Kraft Heinz Canada has issued a recall for Heinz brand Turkey Stew 8+ Months baby food due to the presence of insects in the product.

      The recall was initiated after a consumer complaint.

      The recalled product is sold in 213 milliliter jars with UPC number 0 572200 6 and a date code of 2021JN04, and is sold in B.C., Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador.  

      Anyone who has this product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase.

      There haven’t been any reported illnesses associated with consumption of this product so far, but as CFIA is conducting a food-safety investigation and other products may be recalled.
