A motorcyclist has died in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on the border of Vancouver and Burnaby this afternoon.

Shortly after 2 p.m. today (August 22), a motorcyclist was heading south on Boundary Road near Rumble Avenue when he lost control and was thrown from his motorcycle, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Bystanders performed CPR on him until paramedics were able to arrive.

Unfortunately, the 23-year-old motorcyclist, who was from Richmond, died from his injuries. His name has not been released.

Vancouver investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash, and speed appears to be a contributing factor.

This death is Vancouver’s 10th motor vehicle–related fatality in 2019.
