Fatal two-vehicle collision closes part of Highway 15 in South Surrey

      A collision on the Pacific Highway in South Surrey has resulted in the death of a driver and road closures during morning commutes.

      Around 6:50 a.m. today (September 5), Surrey RCMP attended a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Highway 15, or 176th Street.

      While one driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the other driver died from injuries.

      During the investigation into the incident, police are asking drivers to avoid the area until further notice.

      Roads have been closed on Highway 15 from the intersection of Highway 10 and 32nd Avenue and on 40th Avenue between 168th Street and 176th Street.

      Based on initial information, investigators don’t believe that impairment from drugs or alcohol is a contributing factor.

      Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam video is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers, to remain anonymous.
