After a series of luggage thefts had been taking place at Vancouver International Airport, RCMP have made another arrest.
Richmond RCMP announced today (September 11) that YVR detachment officers arrested a female suspect, 26-year-old Miriam Tremblay, on August 2.
On August 26, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved seven charges of theft under $5,000.
The charges are from alleged luggage carousel thefts that took place between July 12 and August 2 in the YVR Domestic Terminal building.
Tremblay appeared in Richmond provincial court today (September 11).
This arrest follows other other arrests as RCMP have been conducting surveillance at the airport.
On April 17, RCMP YVR officers arrested 60-year-old foreign national Miriam Fajardo after she was allegedly observed stealing a purse from a passenger. Investigators suspected her of working as part of an international crime ring that travels between airports.
On May 10, she was found guilty of three counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of willfully resisting a peace officer.
Then on July 26, Richmond RCMP announced that an officer arrested a male suspect who had been previously captured on surveillance video.
