Environment Canada is warning of nearly 50 millimetres of rain overnight in parts of southwestern B.C.

The northern and eastern sections of Metro Vancouver and the northwestern part of the Fraser Valley will be especially hard hit by a Pacific cold front.

Surrey and Langley are also expected to received plenty of rain.

This raises the risk of flash floods and water pooling along the roads.

Showers will continue through Sunday with a risk of thunderstorms.
