Male driver dies, female passenger injured in collision in Abbotsford

      One male has died after a car crashed in central Abbotsford yesterday.

      The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) announced today (October 11) that at 5:11 p.m. on October 10, emergency services responded to a report about a single-vehicle collision in the 32000 block of Old Yale Road in Abbotsford.

      Abbotsford News reported that a black sedan crashed into a tree east of Clearbrook Road.

      The APD stated that first responders who arrived at the crash scene found two injured individuals: a male driver in his early 30s and a female passenger of unknown age.

      The female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

      Unfortunately, the male driver died from his injuries. The APD stated that the name of the victim is not being released at this time.

      An investigation into the collision, including determining the cause of the crash, is continuing on.
