Potluck Café Society hosts a night of good music for an even better cause

      The Potluck Café Society is encouraging the people of Vancouver to spend a night rockin’ to live music in support of a local charity.

      On November 23, Canadian artist brings the Cariboo Express tour to the stage at the Vogue Theatre (918 Granville Street). For the 14th year in a row, concertgoers can dance the evening away while also admiring the band’s energetic performance. This year’s annual concert is sponsored by Fulmer and Company.

      Potluck Café Society creates jobs and provides healthy food for people living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES). Since 2008, the Potluck Café Society and Bentall have raised more than $600,000 for the society’s community programs.

      Potluck Café Society teaches applicable skills and knowledge to residents unable to find traditional jobs and face barriers in their personal lives. This program allows DTES residents to gain work experience, giving them the opportunity to improve their quality of life.

      On a yearly basis, the café serves between 16,000 to 30,000 free meals to nutritionally vulnerable residents.

      Along with providing healthy meals to the underprivileged, Potluck Café Society offers exceptional catering services. A selection of baked goods, hot and cold entrées, platters, and tapas can be ordered for corporate events and parties.

      Without donations from the public and from the annual concert at the Vogue, Potluck Café Society would be unable to make such a profound impact. For those unable to attend the event, the society welcomes donations through its .

      Doors to the venue will open at 6 p.m. and the band will take the stage at 7:15 p.m.
