A tofu sauce is being recalled in several Canadian provinces due to an insufficient seal that may cause spoilage.

On December 16, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that Wismettac Asian Foods and JFC International (Canada) declared a recall for House Foods’ Chinese Mabo Tofu Sauce Mild.

The affected product is being recalled due to an inadequate seal that may allow the entry of microorganisms that could spoil the contents.

In addition to British Columbia, the product was sold in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

The affected product was sold in 150 gram packages with UPC 0 77377 74064 8 and date code APR/22/2021.

Anyone who has this product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase.
