Gurbaz Singh, 16, suffered a fractured femur after a 150-metre descent.

He underwent surgery on December 31.

Singh is an experienced climber, having scaled nearly 100 mountains in his life.

Health-care costs can be prohibitive for people in the United States if they don't have insurance.

A GoFundMe page has been created by Mel Olson to raise funds for Rishamdeep Singh. As of this writing, it's raised $1,505 toward a goal of $25,000.
