Happy ending to sad sight of deer struggling to escape toboggan

      A Williams Lake hiker came across an unusual sight in the woods: a deer was struggling to detach his antlers from a toboggan.

      The hiker called the B.C. Conservation Officer Service, and before long, its officers had ridden to the rescue on a snowmobile.

      They quickly tranquilized the buck.

      That enabled one of them to cut the deer free so it could resume gallivanting in the forest.

      In the video below, you can see the buck trying without success to rid himself of the toboggan.
