If you’re in search of a sensational night out with friends or loved ones, look no further than  (the Trocks).

This February, Show One Productions brings a performance laden with energy, oomph, and humour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. For one night only, on February 1 at 8 p.m., the all-male dance company will pirouette into the hearts of all who attend this extravaganza.

Wearing size 11 pointe shoes, the dance troupe will flawlessly re-interpret mainstays from classical ballet and modern dance, incorporating movements from flamenco to folk.

To capture the attention of all audience members, the rhythmically inclined group performs parodies of ballet classics like Swan Lake and contemporary works by Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, and many more.

“The group’s sensational comic timing and peerless ballet technique are just two of the reasons why audiences keep coming back again and again,” says Svetlana Dvoretsky, president and executive producer of Show One Productions. “This production is full of raucous humour and unbridled positivity. Indeed, audiences always have the time of their lives at Trocks’ performances.”

Show One Productions: Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo

The Trocks have gained global recognition since their formation in 1974. The company was originally created by a group of professional dancers in New York who all shared a passion for ballet and wanted to express their creativity during the gay liberation movement.

Even with inevitable cast changes over the past four decades, the Trocks’ performance has remained unchanged at its core. Each performer demonstrates impressive technique, using their meticulous knowledge of the form to exquisitely parody the genre that they love most.

Yet the company encourages return viewers—new artists are cast into lead roles with each performance, and the Trocks’ repertoire grows with fresh choreography.

The elegant dancers take on many different roles and characters—all while en pointe. Audiences can expect to see fabulous portrayals of swans, water sprites, delightful princesses, and even churlish Victorian ladies, each executed with the same level of dedication and finesse.

The show will leave audiences cheering from their seats and strutting out of the theatre in search of a dance class.

Tickets to the must-see show range from $25 to $126.75 (plus applicable fees and taxes).
