Speculation abounds over whether Grimes is expecting child with Elon Musk

      A new photo of Grimes, a.k.a. Claire Boucher, has many wondering if she and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk will soon become parents.

      Though she hasn't explicitly stated that she's pregnant, the sometimes cryptic Juno Award–winning multimedia artist and musician declared on Instagram that "being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being".

      So it's not a stretch to draw this conclusion.

      Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver and she's expected to release her fifth album, Miss Anthropocene, next month.

      Her comment about being knocked up came in response to a question posed over social media about the photo below.

      That image was reposted by Grimes after the initial post was deleted by Instagram.

      "I thought about censoring them for a hot minute haha (this may get taken down anyway) but the photo is so much less feral without nipples," she wrote in a separate post. "Plus being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being. Might as well be what it is."

      Grimes added that after her friends advised her not to post the images, she became afflicted with reverse psychology.

      "Interrogated my shame on it and decided it was sum weird internalized self hatred to feel uncomfortable abt my body."

      In May 2018, it became clear that Musk and Grimes were a couple when they were photographed together at the Met Gala red carpet event in New York.

      If Grimes is indeed pregnant, it would be her first child.

      Musk has six children through previous marriages.
