A teen snowboarder missing at Sun Peaks resort since Sunday (February 2) has been found, according to a relative of the boy.

Ash Kelly, a Vancouver radio reporter and cousin of Carson Hadwin, the missing teen, had earlier tweeted about the search.

At 12:15 p.m., she tweeted the news of his rescue.

She wrote that the boy was in a helicopter and on his way to undergo a medical examination but appeared to be in good health.

Kamloops RCMP had announced earlier on February 3 that they and a local search and rescue team were looking for a 14-year-old boy who hadn't been seen since taking a chairlift up the mountain during the day on Sunday (February 2).

“We have been searching for the boy since yesterday when he was first reported missing,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in the February 3 news release.

“Currently there are RCMP officers, the police dog service, and Kamloops Search and Rescue scouring the mountain for any sign of the snowboarder.”

According to the release, the teen rode a shuttle to Sun Peaks Resort on Sunday morning and took the chairlift later in the day but didn't catch the return shuttle to Kamloops that afternoon. His parents then contacted the RCMP.
