Pickup truck collides with 71-year-old female pedestrian in Coquitlam

      Investigators are seeking to find witnesses or footage of a collision in Coquitlam on Tuesday afternoon that resulted in a pedestrian being seriously injured.

      Coquitlam RCMP stated on February 19 that prior to 3:45 p.m. on February 18, a pickup truck making a left turn struck a pedestrian as she was walking across Nelson Street at Ridgeway Avenue in Coquitlam.

      The 71-year-old female pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

      The pickup truck driver, an 84-year-old man from Coquitlam, is cooperating with the investigation.

      RCMP stated that no evidence has been found to suggest impairment or speed as factors contributing to the collision.

      Anyone witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of either the moments leading up to the collision or the collision itself is asked to call the Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency number at 604-945-1550.
