Senior dies after being hit by vehicle backing into lane in Kerrisdale

      A senior died in hospital last week, several days after he was hit by a vehicle in Kerrisdale. 

      The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) stated today (March 16) that an 85-year-old male pedestrian was walking in a lane near West Boulevard and West 43rd Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on March 7.

      Unfortunately, a vehicle backing out of a parking lot into the lane struck him.

      The pedestrian was taken to hospital. However, he died of his injuries on March 12.

      The driver, a 51-year-old man from Delta, stopped after the collision and is cooperating with police during the ongoing investigation into the incident.
