With long-term care homes closed to visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic, it now takes a little ingenuity to spread some cheer to those on the inside. With a plate-glass window providing social distancing, a grandson's visit to UBC’s Purdy Pavilion now comes in the form of a home-made sign rather than an in-person hug.
