Make It Vancouver moves to PNE Forum

Five years after the first Make It Vancouver, the four-day handmade market has quadrupled in size and is moving to a larger venue. From November 28 to December 1, Make It Vancouver 2013 will take place at the PNE Forum (2901 East Hastings Street).

The popular event catered to do-it-yourself enthusiasts features handmade clothing, jewelry, art, children’s items, gourmet food, and more.

Make It Vancouver, which is organized by sibling team Jenna and Chandler Herbut, began with 65 exhibitors at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre. Over the years, the market moved to the Croatian Cultural Centre and expanded to Edmonton. This year’s Vancouver market will include over 250 vendors.

“The demand for buying handmade has grown exponentially and we have to expand just to keep up,” Jenna Herbut stated in a news release. “Now more than ever Vancouverites are conscious of where the products they buy come from. They also love to meet the maker and hear their story."

In addition to DIY vendors, Make It will also include 10 food trucks, a beer garden, and a silent auction with proceeds to support the Union Gospel Mission.

Admission to the market is $7, which includes re-entry on all four days.

      Hi,

My husband and I enjoyed your craft fair so much this year we wish it was still going on. We were able to find lots of great things for family and friends and of course... Our selves:)

There was however a vendor that I had forgotten to go back to to purchase what I had my heart set on and can not find it on your map. Is this something you could help me with in locating her?

She was located in the 60-65,80-85 areas I believe and was Korean or perhaps Japanese. Still can't remember the name of her shop for the life of me but she made a lot of hair fascinators and flowers for you hair, hair bands, some jewellery and the pieces that I wanted were the two jewelled necklace bibs she had made with beads on felt. They were lovely but by the time we remembered to go back you were closing. Are you able to help? Thx Jenny
