    1 of 1 2 of 1

The Interior Design Show West will welcome upwards of 36,000 design lovers and industry members from Thursday to Sunday (September 24 to 27) at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. With so much on offer, here are our don’t-miss picks.

      Jonathan Adler

At the age of 12, Jonathan Adler fell in love with pottery at summer camp. At the Rhode Island School of Design, a teacher recommended he become a lawyer instead of an artist. Later, he chucked a dead-end job as a personal assistant to throw pots and became an international design sensation. The design star will speak on Saturday (September 26) at 1 p.m.

      Rockit Log

Former Whitecaps captain Jay DeMerit hopes to score with the latest speaker system from his Portmanteau Stereo Co.: the Rockit Log ($399). Made from a cross-section of a foraged western red cedar from the Pemberton Valley, the Bluetooth-enabled Rockit Log is fitted with a six-inch, full-range speaker. It’s available in a dark or a light finish, and a customizable back plate comes in several colours. Orders will be taken at IDS West while it’s on display.

      Captured 52

A collection of 52 images from emerging photographers around the globe, Captured 52 has been releasing one large-format print each week (40 by 40 inches up to 60 by 80 inches, depending on the image). Each image is museum-framed.
