Ian Crosby is only 29 but he's already made a mark on the editors of one of America's best-known business publications.

The CEO of Bench, a Vancouver-based bookkeeping and accounting service, has just been named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list.

Crosby took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

In 2010, Crosby, Adam Saint, Pavel Rodionov, and Jordan Menashy cofounded the company, which was then known as 10sheet Inc.

"Bookkeeping is a universal point of pain for entrepreneurs, and we're changing that," Bench states on its website.

In 2012, the company was accepted into New York City's Techstars, which is an incubator for growing high-tech businesses. The following year, Bench raised $2 million and then raised another $7 million in January 2015.

"I actually didn’t have an accounting background other than my few basic accounting courses in college," Crosby told Mixergy in November. "I was a finance major."

This video explains how Bench operates.
