Ahead of the opening of its third Canadian location, local indoor-cycling spot Ride Cycle Club will be offering a series of free classes to interested spinners.

The complimentary 55-minute sessions will take place at a temporary training facility titled UNDRGRND at 117 West 1st Street. A heritage building situated a short walk away from the Lonsdale Quay SeaBus, the space has been transformed into a “cool, dark, beat-filled” room that will allow Ride’s instructors-in-training to perfect their crafts.

UNDRGRND is located a 10-minute drive away from 133 1st Street West, where Ride will open its newest studio in the fall. The free sessions are open to men and women of all ages and will take place daily starting this Saturday (July 22). They'll continue until Ride’s Lonsdale launch in September.

Ride Cycle Club's temporary training facility, UNDRGRND, will play host to the indoor-cycling chain's instructors-in-training over the next two months.

Interested participants should email info@ridecycleclub.com to register for a spot. Thirty seats are available in each class. A total of 10 different instructors will be training, so expect varying styles and playlists depending on whom is leading your session.

Ride describes its 55-minute class as a full-body workout that combines cardio with “micro bike movements” and toning. Like at a number of other spin studios in town, sessions are conducted by candlelight and to the rhythm of pounding music.

Launched in Yaletown in 2014, Ride Cycle Club is founded by local spin instructor Ashley Ander and backed by J.J. Wilson, founder of Kit and Ace, and Moe Samieian Jr., founder of Moe’s Home Collection. It’s developed a cult following in the city since, and earlier this year, expanded to Toronto. First-time and one-time ride rates are typically $20 and $26, respectively.
