If you happen to have an itch to dance in public while dressed as a zombie, there’s an upcoming event in the city that invites people to do that.

The annual Thrill the World Vancouver returns to Olympic Village Plaza (1 Athletes Way) on October 28 at 3 p.m. sharp (rain or shine).

The large-scale dance event expects to see over 200 participants emulate the zombie dance performed in Michael Jackson’s classic “Thriller”music video.

Organized by flashmob group Vancouver Improv Anywhere, this by-donation activity ($40 per person suggested) aims to have a record-breaking number of zombies mimicking the iconic dance, while simultaneously raising money for charity.

The donation cost will include all rehearsals (October 18, 21, 23, and 27) at Creekside Community Recreation Centre (1 Athletes Way), and basic zombie make-up by special effects make-up artists from Blanche MacDonald on the day of the Thriller dance.

Proceeds go toward the Greater Vancouver Foodbank. Everyone is encouraged to bring an item—suggested goods include canned fish and meat, beans, pasta sauce, baby food and formula, etc. Cash donations are also welcome.

Registration for the dance event can be completed online.
