Vancouver's Vessi receives overwhelming response for 1,000+ free sneakers to frontline healthcare workers

      When Vancouver's Vessi footwear put out an offer on Tuesday to provide 1,000+ free sneakers, it received an overwhelming response in just a few days.

      "We are humbled by the number of requests we’ve received and have now closed for additional submissions," the company has posted on its website, promising to get in touch with recipients within 48 hours.

      Earlier, the company best-known for its breathable, waterproof kicks said it would be donating 1,000-plus pairs of its Cloud White Everyday sneakers to Canadian medical professionals--doctors, nurses, and care aids--as a thank you for fighting COVID-19. The frontline workers just had to provide a valid work email and ID, and the shoes are to be delivered to their doorstep.

      Launched in 2017, Vessi is known for its lightweight, puddle-proof knit innovations, as well as vegan and sustainable practices.The Everyday looks it's offering to medical workers have extra arch support, and retail normally for about $135.
