We're thrilled to be partnered with members of CAG (Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver) Young Patrons to showcase work of Vancouver based artists that speak to experiences within our city.
we will be alright explores downtown Vancouver as an abbreviated map, one that distorts, repeats, and loops in patterns resembling a video game. Using isometric perspective, Wang inks out landmarks around Cartems (West Pender location) to comment on our built environment and how it interweaves with our lived experiences.
Wang is a visual artist working within a traditional painting practice, integrated with sculptural installation practices and digital media. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts in Studio Practice from the University of Leeds in England. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and the UK.
Cartems Exhibition Series is a bi-monthly art show at our downtown location. The exhibitions provide increased opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their work while engaging the public with Vancouver’s vibrant artistic community.
The series is programmed once per year after a submissions call out in January. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page to learn more about submitting.
