Bodies of Salt is an exhibition that will be held at the Deer Lake Art Gallery featuring the works of Amanda Smart. Bodies of Salt is hosted and organized by the Burnaby Arts Council. The exhibition will open on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 and will run until February 3th, 2018.

Amanda Smart grew up on the Sunshine Coast where she first discovered her love of painting and nature. After travelling and living in South America, moved back to Vancouver where she attended Emily Carr University of Art & Design. Generally using traditional oil medium, she has developed a more realistically inclined style with hints of dreaminess and ethereality. Amanda aims to explore our natural surroundings while at the same time composing comparisons to our own experiences and conditions as humans. Amanda hopes to continue to use her commitment to her painting as a way to study, learn and explore where we live and our own relationships to that.

Please join us at the Deer Lake Gallery for the OPENING RECEPTION of Bodies of Salt on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 @ 12 pm.
