The Jewish Community of Greater Vancouver welcomes the entire community to our annual JCC Share the Fun Purim – with a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 25 from 10 am – 12:30 pm.

Purim focuses on the story of Queen Esther, her uncle Mordechai and how they saved the Jews of Shushan from the evil Haman - the King’s right hand man. Today, Jews around the world celebrate Purim with costumes, treats and noisemakers to drown out Haman’s name.

We are planning a fun filled day with new ways to express the liveliness of Purim and we will have plenty of that. CircusWest will have roaming performers with LED Hula Hoops and they will even teach our attendees how to use them.

The party will also feature live Purim music, arts and crafts, Hamentashen (traditional triangular-shaped cookies made to commemorate the Jewish celebration of Purim) baking, bouncy castles, a toddler room and an opportunity to take professional family photographs. Of course a delicious pancake breakfast will be served as well.

Everyone is encouraged to come in costume, keeping with the tradition of standing up for what you believe is right.

There will also be Hamantaschen for sale. Your purchase of these tasty treats assists Na’amat Vancouver in providing baked goods to The Vancouver Jewish Food Bank as well as providing Israeli women and children with day-care centers, shelters, counselling and legal services for victims of domestic violence.
The JCC is located at 950 West 41st Avenue. JCC Share the Fun Purim is free of charge with a non-perishable food donation to the Jewish Food Bank.
