The Sidekick Players Club is pleased to present Norm Foster's heart-warming play, Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun directed by Bernice Fehr and assisted by Carroll Lefebvre at The Tsawwassen Arts Centre, April 18 to 28, 2018.

Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun, by Canadian playwright Norm Foster, is a tale of friendship in uncertain times, and a reminder that sometimes, goodbye is just the beginning. This is an emotionally-charged play that explores the relationship between a 35 year old man with the mental capacity of an 8 year old, Robert (Scott Wood), and a young pregnant woman in crisis, Holly (Marjolaine Millette). Robert lives with his widowed mother and works at a print shop doing odd jobs. His relationship with his mother Claire (Denise Brookson) is at the core of the story, and it's obvious that "Mom" is the centre of his universe, the fountain of all knowledge, the rock.

Claire's health is not the best and after a visit with her Doctor (Trish Tansley), she realizes that she has to find someone to care for Robert after she's gone. Robert meets Holly at the bus stop. It seems unlikely that anything can come of this chance encounter, but isn't life like that? Her boyfriend Simon (Mark East) moves briefly in and out, much as he has moved through Holly's life, and we're not sorry when....well, you'll just have to see this play for yourself, but be prepared to shed a few tears through the laughter.

Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun is a story about people finding the nerve to take responsibility and about persevering against all odds. Foster at his finest as he emulates real life with a constant tug-of-war between humour and pathos. Peppered with laughter and tears, this feel-good story is an uplifting and poignant reminder that "family" can be found in the most unexpected places.

Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun is a limited run from Wednesday, April 18 to Saturday, April 28 (Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat at 8pm) and Sunday, April 22 at 2pm. Adults $18, Seniors/Students $15. Reservations are recommended by calling 604-288-2415.
