Music Friends is thrilled to welcome acclaimed Polish pianist Lukas Mikolajczyk for a magical evening of music-making in the true salon tradition of old. Lukas finished in the top 30 at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition, and is also the recent winner of the 2017 Vancouver International Music Competition after moving here from Poland last summer.

Lukas will share with us his interpretations of two of his favourite composers, the beloved Frédéric Chopin of his native Poland, and the ever-warm and intimate Austrian Franz Schubert - both of whom were composers who wrote music intended to be heard in a salon setting.

He will also take us on an exploration of the music from his new home country, through contemporary Canadian works by Jean Coulthard and Paul Crawford.

7:30pm - 8:30pm: Performance, with brief spoken introductions for each piece

8:30pm - 9:30pm: Q&A, mingling over complimentary wine and snacks

The exact address of the host will be sent to ticket holders. The space is very limited, so you are strongly encouraged to purchase your tickets online to reserve your seats. We anticipate that there will not be tickets available at the door.
