My Constituency Youth Council (CYC) and I invite you to join us for the CYC’s second community event, “Policy Makers & Future Shakers” (powered by PechaKucha).

The CYC is a group of young people ranging in ages from 14 to 18. In the fall, they held a book drive and collected over 1,000 books to support community literacy. They initiated and co-hosted with me a public consultation on social innovation and social finance. They drafted policy resolutions, which is an important tool for bringing about change by raising awareness about issues important to their generation.

This year’s policy resolutions cover youth mental health, community post offices, indigenous languages and education, reduction of single use plastic, and industrial food waste. The CYC will be pitching their resolutions as PechaKucha style presentations - a fast-paced presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. The audience will have a chance to vote on which 2 policy resolutions will be presented to the Prime Minister by the #vanquadra CYC.

Come join the fun... and support our next generation of local youth leaders and policy makers!
