Fair in the square is a no-cost community event for people across Vancouver, including our neighbours in the Downtown Eastside. More than 3,000 people join us every year to connect with their neighbours and celebrate community in the inner city. At this 12th annual Fair in the Square event, you can expect:

-Free barbecued food, cupcakes, fruit and beverages provided by
Vancouver Community College Culinary Arts Program

-Live music and performances by a variety of local artists

-Activities for all ages, including arts and crafts and demonstrations

-A showcase of 30 + non-profit organizations and artisan crafts funded by Central City Foundation

-A chance to get to know your neighbours

The last few years have been challenging for Vancouverites struggling to overcome a devastating opioid crisis and the continued critical shortage of affordable housing in our city. Offering a space of respite, The Fair in the Square works to reconnect and renew our relationships with our neighbors in the Downtown Eastside.
