The Long War (Vancouver) // https://www.thelongwarband.com/

2017 CBC Searchlight winners The Long War is a Vancouver based Indie Band where singer/song writer Jarrett Lee works together with vocalist/guitarist Chad Gilmour, vocalist/keyboardist Jess Lee, vocalist/drummer Neil Williamson, and bassist Carson Webber to create a dynamic sound that ranges from Folk to Rock. Lee’s inspiration can largely be attributed to the landscapes and environments that have influenced him throughout his life. Building out from this foundation Gilmour and Williamson provide vocal support through their harmonies bringing Lee’s lyrical imagery to life, which defines the music of The Long War.

Bad Strangers (Vancouver) //

Bad Strangers is a vocally driven duo that is known for their powerful harmonies, catchy melodies and magnetic chemistry. The backbone of their sound is powerful songwriting delivered passionately by two lead vocalists who seem to effortlessly follow each other’s instincts. From vulnerable tearjerkers, to angsty rock tunes, their authenticity is palpable. Their highly personal songs and performance let you into their lives, where they tackle personal struggles and navigate being couple who also collaborate creatively. Their overall sincerity and willingness to let it all out on stage will leave a lasting impression; a warm feeling to take home with you. Their full length debut album will be released late March 2018, and they are heading out on a 45 show tour across Canada in April.

Sam Lynch (Vancouver) // http://www.samlynchmusic.com/

Sam Lynch is a wanderer and a restless mind, who sings her heart onto her sleeve by way of reflective, honest lyrics, and a nuanced, emotionally transparent live performance. She stands armed with a guitar and a voice that carries echoes from decades passed—yet still commands space in the current tapestry—garnering her comparisons to the likes of Feist and Phoebe Bridgers. Sam currently resides in Vancouver, BC, where she is preparing to release her debut EP in 2018.
