The Vidos and Chase the Bear

THE VIDOS (Vancouver) // http://thevidosmusic.com/

THE ViDOS (Vancouver BC). The band collaborates with producer Danny Craig (Default, One Bad Son, Whale and the Wolf, The Classy Chassys) to create a new wave of energetic, fuzzy rock and roll. In May of 2018, The Vidos dropped their latest single "CRIMINALS". They then released the accompanying video; the sequel to 2016's "CAR TROUBLE" on May 25th. The boys will be hitting the pavement this summer to promote the single!

In 2017 the band played two Live Nation opening slots at The Commodore Ballroom, for Age of Electric, and Daniel Wesley. In between these two shows the group played a direct support slot, opening for The Pack A.D at CJ's in Kamloops. Going into the summer, the band began recording their newest un-released EP. Once recorded the first single "Perfect Stranger" was released to Canadian radio, which peaked independently at #39 on the Active-Rock charts. Riding on the single, the band went on an extensive coast to coast Canadian tour for 2 months, until they finished the tour in October for C-Jay 92's Halloween Howler, where they played alongside: Big Wreck, The Headstones, & One Bad Son.

The Vidos had a number of noteworthy shows in 2016, including a few performances at CMW and opening slots with bands like Pop Evil, JPNSGRLS, and PRISM. They dropped the single "CAR TROUBLE" to radio in early October, securing spins at CIFM Kamloops, POWER 104 Kelowna, C-JAY 92 Calgary, X-92 Calgary, THE BEAR Edmonton, THE DRIVE Red Deer, KRZQ Reno, & several others. They also scored regular rotation at THE WOLF Regina. At the same time "Car Trouble" hit the airwaves, they released the music video, directed by Dave Benedict (Square Egg). The release was well-recieved, resulting in the band independently charting to #39 on the Canadian active-rock charts.

Chase The Bear (Vancouver) // https://www.chasethebearmusic.com/

Inspired by the greatest music of the past century, Chase the Bear draws inspiration anywhere from the incredible songwriting of The Beatles, the hard-hitting instrumental proficiency of Led Zeppelin, and various elements of funk, soul, and modern rock in between. With an emphasis on an incredible live show, lead singer Troy dominates the stage with his electrifying presence and smoky, powerhouse vocals while the rest of the band deliver tasty harmonies, raw musicianship, and an incredible amount of energy that only rises throughout the show.

The band - who also consists of Connor Brooks on drums and co-vocals, Leo Gilmore and Jordan Phillips on guitars, and Braedan Royer on bass -play each performance with the audience as part of the band - a collaborative and intimate experience that ends with an explosion of talent, passion, sweat, and occasionally confetti.

In the wake of 2018, the band won Live Acts’ Best in Vancouver competition to the sold-out Railway Stage & Beer Cafe, finishing with their original song, “Home”. The live version can go for varied amounts of time, and includes an extended, call-response bridge and an impressive solo by their drummer, Connor Brooks.

After several shows in Vancouver, Victoria, and the okanagan, Chase the Bear caught the eye of radio DJ Jon Williams (The Zone 91.3), who commented,

“You must see this band. Let’s help them establish a core base and turn this into their proper new home. Canada is dripping in talent … Chase The Bear were relentless from start to finish.”

A band of brothers, they show unrivaled chemistry on stage, further showing that this is more than just a rock n’ roll revival band - this is a new animal that shows four young men from Fort St. John, and one young prodigy from Boone, Carolina can do something genuine and unique, all the while having the time of their lives.

Since their inception in July 2017, they toured throughout B.C. and got the opportunity to showcase in front of the B.C. Touring Council, who enthusiastically commented,

“The fresh-faced Chase the Bear members rocked us with their performance ... for such a young act, they delivered with professionalism and passion”

For the rest of the year, Chase the Bear plans to release their first recorded material, as well as tour more throughout Western Canada, including a confirmed spot Tumbler Ridge’s Grizfest Music Festival in August, with more to come.
