Submission Deadline: Sunday, Aug 19 2018, midnight

The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is seeking textile artists and makers to participate in our upcoming exhibition, Textile Narratives from October 19 – November 17, 2018 at CityScape Art Space. The opening reception will be Thursday, October 18 from 7 – 9pm.

Artists and communities have been using textiles to tell stories for thousands of years. We would like to invite makers and artists who work with fibre, textiles, and surface design to rescue, repurpose, and recycle material to tell stories, communicate thoughts and ideas, and to convey messages and memories.

Through weaving, repurposing, and stitching, textile prompts us to ask: Why was this made? Who has touched this? What story does this tell? Textile creates narratives that can be read by everyone.

The North Vancouver Community Arts Council would like you to tell us your story!
