The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC presents Tricksters & Transformers: An Evening of Indigenous Word on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:30-9pm. Enjoy an inspiring evening of literature, poetry, and hip hop by Indigenous artists-activists of our times. Eden Robinson, Christie Charles, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids—an eclectic lineup of powerhouse First Nation artists—will wow audiences with their written and spoken words. Eden Robinson (Haisla, Heiltsuk) will launch Trickster Drift, the much anticipated second novel of her captivating Trickster trilogy, with a Q&A and book signing. Christie Charles (Musqueam), Vancouver’s first Indigenous and current poet laureate, will host the evening and lay down her singular mix of urban Indigenous poetry, hip hop, and storytelling. Joining Charles on stage is the Polaris Prize-nominated hip hop duo, Snotty Nose Rez Kids (Haisla), for an earth-shaking set of fiery rhymes that tell stories of their culture and land—in their own words.

Free with museum admission.
