Sooshi Mango leaves you with the “good kind” of belly aches.
Vancouver - Sooshi Mango live for one night only, performing their “Ethnic Vacation to Canada” show Feb 3 at the York Theatre.
For those needing an introduction, Sooshi Mango is an Australian comedy group made up of two brothers Carlo and Joe Salanitri, and their best mates Andrew Manfre and Michael Kambouridis. Online they are a hit with 50 million combined views on their facebook page and youtube page, and their base of fans has grown significantly over the last four years.
These three Italian and one Greek BFF’s have great facial expressions; comedic timing and their blooper reels are just as funny as their finished products.
One of their first viral videos on facebook was a three part series on Italians vs. Greeks. It was a humorous comparison of the two cultures, and it was clear from the shares and views, the big winner wasn’t either culture, but their ever-growing fan base. From that point onward it was clear these guys could crack the giggles out of any viewer with their teamwork and synergy.
Their success is attributed to their lifestyle of being children of immigrant families or WOGS as they proudly proclaim. Respecting their parents, means poking good fun also. They simple just adore how old school their parents were and how they were raised, as it represents a time that no longer exists, plus it offer endless supply of comedic material.
In the last year, the viral shares of Ethnic Dads, is what kicked off the idea of going on tour. So when they took to facebook to ask their fans if a tour outside of Australia was warranted, well Canada responded with thousands of thumbs ups, likes and comments, because nothing makes people laugh more then the things that come out of immigrant parents mouth, and the how and what they sacrificed to raise their children. And that is how the Ethnic Vacation to Canada for Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver was booked.
The tour will feature Toronto born comedian and event producer, Giuseppe the MC, who is best know for his fabulous coiffed hair and for his social media videos called “Calabrese Phrase of the Day”. He has performed on the east coast of Canada and the US and in parts of Europe, but this will be his first time performing in Vancouver.
The show is February 3rd at 8pm at the York Theatre. Tickets are $50, but don’t delay because when an Italian tells two friends, they tell two friends and they tell two friends and etc etc etc..
