Join us for a live solo performance by Petunia at 6.30pm followed by the Vancouver premiere of "the music documentary of the year", a moving portrait of the epochal British folk singer, now in her 80s and recording her first album in four decades. Shirley's other claim to fame is her role as assistant on Alan Lomax's legendary 1959 field recordings of American folk music, from which we hear liberal cuts here. This ballad is an elegy for passing time and lost loves and celebrates the songs that last.
