Seven Tyrants Theatre, Vancouver's Jessie Award winning independent theatre company, presents John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize winning drama: "Doubt: A Parable." The production, the second of their season, is directed by Bill Devine and features Tallulah Winkelman as “Sister Aloysius” and Jessie Award nominated actor David Thomas Newham as “Father Flynn.” The cast also features Olivia Lang as “Sister James” and Liza D’Aguilar as “Mrs. Muller.” The creative team includes Jessie Award winning sound designer Daniel Deorksen and set designer Lynda Chu.

The play will be performed in Tyrant Studios, the company’s newly renovated performance venue located above the historic Penthouse Nightclub. Recently converted by the company to a studio theatre, these upstairs rooms once hosted exclusive parties and performances by music legends like Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr, and Frank Sinatra.

Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award. In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students. Following its run on Broadway, the play was produced as a Hollywood film in 2008 starring Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymour Hoffman and received five Academy Award nominations, four for each of its actors and one for Shanley’s script.
