In the latest instalment (and theatrical version) of his landmark Up documentary project, Michael Apted displays tremendous affection and infectious inquisitiveness in re-introducing us to the disparate individuals we’ve been following for six decades. As Tony, Suzy, Nicholas, Lynn, and the others enter their autumnal years, these evergreen subjects remain founts of wit and introspection. With the spectre of Brexit leaving them all the more reflective, their interviews prove incredibly compelling.
