Written in 2015, Evan Placey’s Consensual revolves around a British secondary school’s teacher and Head of Year 11 Diane, and a mistake she made seven years earlier: she got too close to one of her unhappy 15-year-old pupils. Though we see both of their stories, in the first half we’re never sure what truly happened.
