Nominated for Best International Film, this gritty urban drama is vehemently not another Victor Hugo adaptation... rather it owes a debt to La Haine and Do the Right Thing. It's an intense, compelling film about tensions spilling over in a working class, largely immigrant Parisian banlieu when a lion cub is stolen from a visiting circus.
