The film starts with a missionary expedition making contact with an aboriginal family in Arnhem Land, Northern Australia, in 1919, an expedition that quickly degenerates into a bloodbath. Eliding a decade, the film picks up the narrative when two of the colonists are reluctantly brought back together to capture renegade aboriginal warrior
