Lo-fi indie-rock band Elvis Depressedly makes its way to Vancouver’s Biltmore Ballroom on March 23, on the heels of its 2016 release of EP California Dreamin’. Known for their downcast, slowcore sound, in recent years Elvis Depressedly has also revealed an ecstatic indie-pop side that proves singer-songwriter Mat Cothran “can write with delicacy about joy and love and light just as easily as he can about Satan and burning churches” (Pitchfork). This latest work is a hazy, dreamy mix of guitar, drums and gravelly layers of distortion perfect for drifting on the dance floor or making out in the corner.
