Transitions: Plein Air to Abstraction
Jane Appleby
This show is a juxtaposition of small paintings completed outdoors and larger expressive abstracts. The smaller on location paintings are what inform the larger works where details of subject are diminished and emotional brushwork and abstract elements predominate. The show also includes videos of Jane painting on location in the lower mainland.

Everdusk
Rachel Rozanski
Kwi Am Choi Scholarship Recipient
With the theme of a fantastical, illustrative world called Everdusk the artist has created a series of intaglio prints. Rozanski, a recent Emily Carr University grad, has always been passionate about fantasy, and its ability to project ideas about reality. She is interested in the natural phenomenon that occurs only at dusk, a brief, key time for many species.

From Caspar to James: An Etched Presence
Marina DiMaio
Kwi Am Choi Scholarship Recipient
This exhibition was created as part of a research project that explores the reciprocity between the historical and contemporary sublime. It also includes tools and journals used in the creation process. Marina DiMaio is a Masters of Fine Arts student at the University of Victoria.
