Roy Forbes, formerly known as “Bim”, is that rare BC artist with a street named in his honour in his hometown of Dawson Creek, BC. Roy brings with him a great batch of original songs nearly 50 years in the making. He also travels with an in-depth knowledge of jazz, blues, country, rock ‘n’ roll and folk music.

Roy started “up north” in the ‘60s. Performing as “Bim,” he had his brush with stardom before becoming one of Canada’s most respected and best-loved singer/songwriters. With ten solo records and two more with his UHF companions, Shari Ulrich and Bill Henderson, Roy has left much for posterity. His CKUA Radio show, “Roy’s Record Room”, recently celebrated its 11th year. As a performer, he is a master of the stage, establishing an electrical connection with audiences.

The BC Entertainment Hall of Fame (BCEHOF) announced its 2017 BCEHOF inductees on July 28. These seven new StarWalk Stars and two Pioneer Stars will join the 275+ previous inductees who have been recognized for their significant contribution to the province’s entertainment industry and cultural landscape.

The BCEHOF is divided into two prestigious categories: StarWalk and Pioneers. The StarWalk inductees are individuals who have enhanced the province’s cultural profile, both locally and on the world stage. The 2017 StarWalk inductees include Roy Forbes in the music category.
Roy will be formerly inducted at his old stomping grounds, the CBC (CBC Vancouver Outdoor Stage), at his Musical Nooner’s concert where his fans and friends are invited to join in on the celebration.

“I’m tickled and honoured to be rubbing elbows with the current and previous inductees of the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame, including early pioneers like Al Reusch and Fraser MacPherson,” says Forbes.
