Caravan World Rhythms and the Rogue Folk Club present Trio Da Kali , a group of outstanding musicians from the Mande culture of southern Mali, who come from a long line of distinguished griots (hereditary musicians). They are led by master balafon player Fodé Lassana Diabaté, with singer Hawa Kasse Mady Diabaté who is undoubtedly Mali’s finest female voice today, and finally bass ngoni player Mamadou Kouyaté, the eldest son of the instrument’s greatest exponent Bassekou Kouyaté.
